We Buy Off-Spec Crude Oil
We have the ability to take large volumes of off-spec crude oil that do not meet specifications.
Off-Spec Oil
Off-spec crude oil is a type of crude oil that does not meet the quality standards the petroleum industry sets. The difference between off-spec crude oil and crude oil is the basic sediment and water content.
While crude oil typically contains 0.5% or less BS&W, off-spec crude oil can contains 2% or higher BS&W. This higher impurity can make off-spec crude oil more difficult to refine and may result in a lower-quality final product.
At Terrain Oil Reclamation, we are committed to helping our clients get the most out of their oil. We purchase and refine off-spec crude oil at a discount to the prevailing market benchmark and refine it to an industry-wide standard. Whether it originates from the lease or is SWD skim oil or is obtained from production waste, we can help.
Our unique technology and methods allow us to effectively remove solids, water, entrained water, and other impurities from crude oil. As a result, our customers can obtain clean, marketable crude oil that meets or exceeds all industry standards for BS&W content. Our process is highly effective, resulting in BS&W content of less than 0.5%.
